I made this album in a different time and different place than we find ourselves in now. I wanted to make something just me, no band, no real outside input other than my Tio Martin who I've played and toured with for almost a decade now. And that's just life now, solitude or close to it. We are all inside folks now... It's weird but putting this out now feels apt.

I was a very different person when I made this than I am now, I'm sure you were too. There's a lot of stuff on here about longing, about wanting to belong to a place or person or time, it's what I was feeling then and am feeling in a different way now.

The world is different now, I dunno when we'll all meet again so until then let me share the realest side of myself with you. I tried to write how I really felt, not what I thought people wanted to hear or what musicians I like would approve of, I wanted to make something for myself and I hope you like it too.

This record is for Poppy, Gramps, Mark, and Dan.
